Estate agency network reveals £2,500 winner
the Experts in Property, the network of more than 80 independent estate agency offices throughout the South West, is thrilled to announce the winner of its £2,500 Spring Giveaway as Rob O’Neil, a butcher from Callington.
the Experts in Property Spring Giveaway was launched in February. During the three-month promotional period until 30th April, all homeowners and landlords who were thinking about putting their property up for sale or rent and had their local member agency round to conduct a market valuation, were entered to be in with a chance of winning.
There were hundreds of entries. Chairman of the network, Steve Moir, pulled random entries out of a ‘hat’ on 17th May and announced the winner of the grand prize of £2,500 to spend on a holiday.
Rob O’Neil invited Saltash agency, Hennings Moir, to value a three-bedroom detached house in the village of Harrowbarrow, near Callington, for both sale and rental purposes. It was decided to rent out the recently completed self-built property and Hennings Moir now provides a fully managed service with tenants who are the first occupants.
Rob went into Hennings Moir last week to collect his prize. He said: “When my sister called me to say that Hennings Moir were trying to get hold of me, I thought something was wrong! I was gobsmacked when she told me I had won the £2,500 holiday vouchers – I still am! I do the lottery but never win anything. It’s just wonderful, I can’t stop smiling!”
Karen English, lettings manager at Hennings Moir, said: “Rob wanted to keep the house in the family as it was he and his father who built it, and we’re delighted that he chose us to look after it for him. We’re so pleased that he won.”
Steve also picked five runners-up entries, each of whom won £50.
Mrs Manners invited the Chelston branch of Woods Bryce Baker to value her lovely two bedroom first floor flat, just round the corner from the office in Torquay. It is expected that Mrs Manners will put her flat on the market at some point in the next six months and hopefully she’ll choose Woods Bryce Baker to market it for her! She was really pleased to have won a £50 prize.
Force & Sons in Exeter presented a £50 cheque to Mr Tom Moore, who invited Stephen Force round to value his home in a quiet residential street in the city. Mr Moore instructed another agent to sell his home for him but Stephen was pleased to hand over his prize and hopes he can assist Mr Moore in the future.
The Liskeard office of Jefferys conducted a market appraisal on a modern four-bedroom house in the town and sales manager Richard Metherell awarded the owners, Mr & Mrs Hobbs, with their prize. They are planning to instruct Jefferys to sell their home in the coming weeks.
Hennings Moir in Saltash also had a runner-up among its clients. The agency had previously sold Simon Gollop’s farmhouse and via them, he purchased a smaller property in Wood Close, Latchbrook. After updating the modern one-bedroom house, he has given it to Hennings Moir to rent, tenants have now moved in and the agency are managing it. Simon said: “I am bowled over and delighted to have won a prize. I have been really impressed with the service I have received on numerous occasions from Hennings Moir and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.”
And lastly, Mr & Mrs Sawyer invited the Portishead branch of Westcoast Properties to value their home in Eastcliff, near Portishead. The two-bedroom house set in the heart of Portishead’s marina development had been extensively upgraded to a very high standard and Westcoast Properties found a buyer within 24 hours of it being launched to the market. Jemma Barratt at the office said: “I am so pleased that Mr & Mrs Sawyer won a runners-up prize – it couldn’t have happened to nicer people.”
The 80 member offices of the network work together to provide the most extensive marketing, reaching more buyers and getting property sold. The network also has offices in London and regularly holds Westcountry Property Exhibitions in the capital, where a significant proportion of its buyers are based.
